#04 - Video Editing, Progress with Video Pre-Production, Reminiscing on Takeaway - 11/05/2025
Im pretty tired today honestly. Not in a bad way, but just kind of naturally so. The weather's been really nice and warm and summery which is nice, given that it's spring, but it also does make me a little bit more tired due to my hay fever. I don't know how to describe it, but having hay fever at times is like feeling tired all over and having a blocked up nose, making it feel like im a dying jet engine at times. It sucks, but, it's manageable. There's worse conditions out there to have on the big roulette wheel of it, so I'm not gonna complain. But yeah, I'm just tired.
Video editing has been promising and a bit of a stressful thing today - A Comprehensive Breakdown of SAPARi.MIL is almost complete! I got the last bits of it done today, but before I even got to that point, I got thrown a spanner in the works; one of the audio files within Davinci Resolve just...decided not to playback properly, and I still don't really understand why it was being that way. I managed to eventually fix it by making sure that the audio track was set to stereo. Why it wasn't on this beforehand is beyond me, but it aggravated me enough as a really ridiculous, time wasting issue that while I technically got everything done when it comes to the video, i'm leaving things to the 12th of may (which should be either tomorrow or now, depending on your perspective) to get things done. I'll be finishing up the video by giving it an ending, but then going over the entire project and sprucing it up in terms of editing. From there, it'll be up on the channel! For anyone reading this, be sure to watch until the end! There's a fun little thing, left secret inside~
Speaking of videos, pre-production on the next big CRT Dreams video is going well! I mentioned in prior blog posts that the topic is centered around LSD Dream Emulator, and i still intend for that to be the case! I've managed to get to day 100 so far within the game, and i'll be shifting my strategy when it comes to playing the game. With the game, I intend to play the game in different ways based on the timespan. You'll see what I mean when the video is out hehe, whenever that may be, hopefully it won't take millenia haha. But i'm pretty happy I have progress, after only about a week or so of playing. It's interesting, playing for so long already has been both a fast thing and a slow thing, time feels strange playing it. Not that i'm complaining, I usually get myself a cup of tea and play as the sun sets here - there's a particular vibe to it that I enjoy, to play the game as I myself settle for the night and end up going to sleep later. Though the game's been on my mind a lot at night too to be honest, mainly what I want to write about when it comes to the game and the script for the video. I want to embody more of the passion that I have for these topics into my videos, as it feels right when I talk about something im passionate about and I feel that's reflected within the videos themselves - the shadow video definitely had that passion, but in retrospect, I really wish I had more time to develop it, or make it a two-parter, because it wore thin, that video. Still proud of it, just really got fatigued for a while because of it.
Overall, i'm looking forward to the next session of LSD Dream Emulator - I'm gonna give myself two days to rest from it, as to be honest, i'm not exhausted per se but I am tired and I think having these intervals is healthy. I said to a friend today that the game is something that should imo be best enjoyed in bursts or intervals. I still stand by that mantra, something like LSD Dream Emulator is NOT to be rushed unless it's for, say, speedrunning.
Other than this, the main thing that's been on my mind has been reminiscing on covid-era takeaways. Random segway I know, but, I really miss this particular pizza place I used to be near, where you could get a 12 inch choose your own pizza plus cheesy fries and a bottle of cola for less than ten pounds. That's so cheap in today's landscape! I really do miss those spinach, chicken, feta and mozzarella pizzas I used to get. They weren't healthy, but they were damn tasty. And sometimes, you need a bit of TLC like that imo.
Though nowadays, I think i'd add chilli oil and some olives on there.
God I fucking love olives.
